I'm so confused

I just read on someone's personal blog, their believe in the way we receive psychic messages.
It counteracts everything I have ever heard before. But makes total sense.

But what I read today, stated that when we get a vision or message or sign that is in direct opposite of what we desire, we are getting the real message from the divine. 
This is what is confusing me.   In everyone of the paths I have witnessed, I've never heard of it this way.

But I suppose it comes back to the idea of what you fear most you create or what you battle most you become.
