I've had a few people comment to me about the fact, I haven't written anything about the big WWE Network news...
Here's my reason, and I'm posting it here for now, (I will talk about it at some point in the future on my wrestling blog) I'm Canadian. From everything that I've been reading about the big launch of the network, it's only being launched in the United States of America right now. The rest of the world, Canada included, have to wait months, maybe even a year or more before we will have it available to us.
Sucks don't it.
Two things. One- there is the question of why didn't the WWE just wait till they could launch it worldwide at the same time? and Two- I understand wanting to launch some version of it as quickly as possible. So fans like me, who live outside of the U.S.A., have no reason to get excited right now. And given the fact that once it's launched, everything will be available it seems on the digital network, that we won't miss anything. As in, it will be on demand.
On Demand. Two words that has changed the way people think just in the last couple of years.
Will I be signing up for the WWE Network? As soon as it's available in Canada, which I've been told will be October 2014 or later.
Hell, we've all waited this long for a wrestling network, whats a few more months?
The next question it brings up is, how far behind that, before other wrestling companies or sports companies in general, begin to jump onto this type of bandwagon? Would a general all wrestling channel be a good thing? I'm sure it's become a topic of conversation everywhere and I would have to say, that yes I think it would.
